Đorđić Is Back is the fourth novel by one of Slovenia's biggest literary stars Goran Vojnović. Published in 2021, it has so far been sold to Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, North Macedonia Serbia, and Sweden, and we are delighted that the Italian publisher Keller Editore has now, after recently publishing Vojnović's previous title The Fig Tree, decided to go ahead. The Italian edition will again be translated by Patrizia Raveggi.
The novel is a sequel to Vojnović's bestselling debut novel Southern Scum, Go Home!, but this is no longer a story about Slovenians and immigrants from the former Yugoslavia and their children, but a story about a world that is disappearing. A decade of living in a place marked by nationalism, war trauma, and an unhappy first love, has turned Marko, once a confused teenager into an emotional wreck of a young man, whose turbulent inner world is a mirror image of the outside one.
